After 18 months of planning, 306 park tickets, 1,405 meal certificates, 753 meal cards, 67 Hotel Rooms, 2200 miles, 18 chaperons, 4 directors, 4 buses, a refurbished instrument trailer, and hours of rehearsing, the Berea-Midpark Titan Marching Band is ready to depart for Disney World.
The countdown clock, which was started one year ago, is now counting down hours instead of days until students report for the Titan Band’s departure to Orlando, Florida.
While this day has been circled on the calendar for quite some time, it does not come without the grateful help of the Berea-Midpark Band Boosters, the Berea City Schools Treasurer’s office, the Berea Police K-9 unit, and of course the parents. And a special “tip-of-the-beret” to Jeff Hiller and sons for their outstanding work in preparing the instrument trailer for the long haul to Disney.
The Titan Band is scheduled to step off at 2:30pm on Sunday as they lead Disney’s Festival of Fantasy Parade at the Magic Kingdom. Considering the time of year and spring breaks, the anticipation is that the crowd along the parade route will be quite large.
Be sure to check back with the band’s website to see photo’s and maybe a few other surprises as the trip progresses.
